Donations for The Huricane Katrina relief effort:
"We would like to thank all that have donated to the Hurricane Katrina relief collection. Your financial support is truly inspirational and is most definitely a reflection of your care for those who have seen their lives turned upside down by not one but two hurricanes in a row. We have decided to send our donatations directly to All Saints Church in New Orleans to use as needed for their relief efforts. After speaking with their pastor, Father Weiss, the decision was easy. We will be mailing a check to All Saints Church next week, October 12th, so that anyone who still wishes to donate may do so. Please make checks out to St. Albert the Great Parish."
I spoke with Father Weiss on Wednesday, October 12th and he tells me that things will never be back to 'normal' but things are staring to come back. We hope that our contribution will in some small way help make an impact on those most effected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Fr. Weiss is also the chaplin for the New Orleans fire department and has seen first hand the good in people and the spirit alive in those that give of themselves, unselfishly, day in and day out.
Donations for the Friends of St. Albert
We would like to thank all that have continued to support us throughout the vigil. Your time, talents and treasure have proven to be the backbone of the vigil It's even more important now that we have been re-established to donate your talents and help us to become the parish that we can be. The parish of St. Albert The GREAT of Weymouth, MA.
The 'Friend's of St. Albert' is an unified organization of people who are united in Christ, with an eye on the organization of the Catholic church. Our focus now is on the so called 'reconfiguration' of the Archdiocese of Boston by Archbishop Sean O'Malley. St. Albert the Great Parish of Weymouth is a vibrant, fiscally responsible and growing parish which should be used as a model for those parishes that are experiencing difficulty 'making ends meet'.
As you are most likey aware, St. Alberts has been surpressed by the Archbishop. This is something that leaves so many of us wondering what is the purpose of closing a parish so full of life, so full of Catholic people enjoying the gospel, sharing in the Eucharist and living the life as proclaimed in the message of Christ.
We do not want to loose what we have spent so much of our lives building but in order to dispute the process with the Archdiocese of Boston for the life of our church we need to have money to pay the legal group that we have hired to help us. This is not cheap and we honestly feel that it will be worth it because this is what we
must do.
Your donations are what will make this fight possible, regardless of the outcome. When we are successful in winning back our parish, this will have all been worth it. Even if we are not successful in keeping St. Albert's open, we still win. The Archdiocese of Boston will understand that the Catholic people in the Boston Archdiocese are no longer going to be pushed around.
St. Albert's is not the only one to benefit from this battle, all parishes will win in the long run.
Please send your donations for the legal fund to:

or if you wish to donate to the fund for the daily operations of the parish, such as electricity, gas and water, to:

We would like thanks all of those people that have donated their
time,
talent and
treasure in this time of need. Your generosity has been overwelming and so greatly appreciated. All donations, food money and especially giving of yourselves has been unbelievable. The spirit has filled us all and the best way of showing this is to spread the word.
Thanks to all!!
